Ring with the design of Antoni Gaudí's hexagonal tile.
RING SIZE
There are two ways to find your ring size:
1. Take a ring that fits you and always measure the diameter from the inside of the ring (discarding the thickness of the ring), as shown in the following figure. This measurement in millimetres will be the diameter. Check the size with the following table.
2. Use a string or paper tape to encircle the finger near the knuckle in a tight but not tight way. Make a mark and what you measure up to the mark will be the measurement in millimetres of the length of the ring. Check the size with the following table.
The Gaudí hexagonal tile ring is inspired in the tiles designed by the modernist architect Antonio Gaudí in 1904, which he made together with the Escofet house for the Casa Batlló (which is located on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona). However, delays in its manufacture meant that it was finally used for the service rooms of the Casa Milà, "La Pedrera".
This tile is monochromatic and has drawings inspired by the marine world in relief: a starfish, a conch fossil and a seaweed. Each tile has a third of the components so that if you put seven pieces together you can see the complete components.
Today we can see this original tile in "La Pedrera" and an adaptation for outdoors that was made in 1997 in homage to the architect in Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. We would also like to pay tribute to such an important figure in architecture as Antoni Gaudí and to our city with this version of Gaudí's hexagonal tile in sterling silver.
The ring measures 18 mm from vertex to vertex, 9 mm on each of the 6 sides and is 2 mm thick. The ring's hoop is 3 mm and is split in two to give the detail more stability. The material of the ring is polished 925 sterling silver (relief of the figures) and the background is oxidised silver so that the marine details are well highlighted.
The combined earrings and pendant are also available.
