Description

The Gaudí Hexagonal Tile is a pendant inspired by the tiles designed in 1904 by the modernist architect Antonio Gaudí and made together with the Escofet house for the Casa Batlló (which is located on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona). However, delays in its manufacture meant that it was finally used for the service rooms of the Casa Milà, "La Pedrera".

This tile is monochromatic and has drawings inspired by the marine world in relief: a starfish, a snail fossil and a seaweed. Each tile has a third of the components so that if you put seven pieces together you can see the complete components.

Today we can see this original tile in "La Pedrera" and an adaptation for outdoors that was made in 1997 in homage to the architect in Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. We would also like to pay homage to such an important figure in architecture as Antoni Gaudí and to our city with this version of Gaudí's hexagonal tile in sterling silver.

The earrings measure 26 mm in total length, the tile measures 15 mm from vertex to vertex and 6 mm on each side of the hexagon. They are fastened with a 24 mm hook. They are made of 925 sterling silver with a polished finish (relief of the figures) and an oxidised background to delicately highlight the marine details. There is also a set of ring and necklace.

They are sold in pairs.
