MEANING OF THE WHALE TAIL
The whale tail has several symbolisms such as good luck, speed, strength or freedom. This can vary according to the different cultures that worship it.
For the Japanese culture it is seen as a symbol of courage and determination. For the ancient samurai it was protection and strength.
In Inuit culture it is a talisman that attracts good luck and protects against evil spirits.
In New Zealand, the Maori consider it to be a symbol of authority and power, which is why tribal chiefs wear tattoos of it. It also symbolises the connection to the ocean.
In Greek mythology it symbolises victory in challenges. The ancient Greeks used the whale's tail as a reminder of the human ability to overcome adversity.
In Celtic mythology, the whale is linked to Saint Bendran, a navigator who was guided by a whale in a storm. It is therefore considered a spiritual guide and connection to the ocean.
