925 sterling silver necklace of the hexagonal tile designed by Antoni Gaudí in Barcelona. Chain included.
The Gaudí hexagonal tile is a pendant inspired by the tiles designed in 1904 by the modernist architect Antonio Gaudí and made together with the Escofet house for the Casa Batlló (which is located on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona). However, delays in its manufacture meant that it was finally used for the service rooms of the Casa Milà, "La Pedrera".
This tile is monochromatic and has drawings inspired by the marine world in relief: a starfish, a conch fossil and a seaweed. Each tile has a third of the components so that if you put seven pieces together you can see the complete components.
Today we can see this original tile in "La Pedrera" and an adaptation for outdoors that was made in 1997 in homage to the architect in Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona. We would also like to pay homage to such an important figure in architecture as Antoni Gaudí and to our city with this version of Gaudí's hexagonal tile in sterling silver.
The pendant measures 20 mm from vertex to vertex, 10 mm on each of the 6 sides, and is made of 925 sterling silver polished (relief of the figures) and with a matte-finished background so that the marine details are well highlighted.
The pendant comes with a 40 cm silver chain. If you would like a 45 cm chain, please let us know in the comments before purchasing.
Matching earrings are also available.
Available in 925 silver, silver with oxidised background, silver with 18K gold plating.
